2007 Canoe Journey Participant Code of Conduct

Lummi Indian Tribe

In order to promote a safe and successful Canoe Journey event for all Participants of the 2007 Canoe Journey, all participants, volunteers, parents' & Attendees agree to the following code of conduct:

  • Adopt a Code of Conduct for Co-host at various Canoe Tribes.
  • Respectfully request Canoe Families and participants to utilize all water and food without waste.
  • Support & participate in all 2007 Canoe Journey Program activities.
  • Canoe Families must attend all protocol events from start to finish.
  • Assist law enforcement, staff & volunteers in the operation of a safe event.
  • Canoes families on the traditional waterways shall practice safety, respect the waterways,
  • Travel within safe measures and distances of other canoes and within the reach of safety boats.
  • Report all unsafe or illegal conditions to event staff immediately.
  • Observe posted quiet hours (10:00 PM TO 6 AM) in and around all Camping areas.
  • Keep all camping areas clean & free from hazardous conditions.
    Treat others equally, fairly and respectfully.
  • Be respectful of elder's, guests of other individuals and all property.

PROHIBITED ITEMS AND ACTIVITIES

  • Alcohol, illegal drugs, weapons, or fireworks will not be allowed at the 2007 Canoe Journey.
  • Possession, use or distribution will be grounds for immediate expulsion from the cultural event.
  • Campfires are allowed only in designated areas & salmon barbeque pits. Burn bans will be strictly enforced.
  • Theft, vandalism and arson will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law.
  • Bullying, harassment, or assault of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Crimes or other disruptive behaviors will not be tolerated.
